Opening a bank account 銀行口座開設の巻

個人事業主として独立し、最初に取り組まなければならなかったのは銀行口座の開設でした。正直言って、銀行口座の開設は簡単なものだろうと思っていましたが、それは大きな誤算でした。

銀行へ行って、口座開設の手続きを始めると、開業届のコピー提出が必要で、さらに担当者が事務所に訪れて所在地の確認を行い、口座開設の目的についてヒアリングが行われ、海外からの入金に備えて外国為替についても説明とヒアリングがありました。さらに、屋号だけの口座開設は許可されず、さまざまな手続きと商談が必要でした。最終的に、新しい口座を開設するまでには約2週間かかり、4回もの商談が必要でした。

架空の口座を作成して詐欺行為を行う人々が増えていることを考慮すると、新しい口座を開設する際の慎重さは理解できます。ただ、ここまでの手続きと時間がかかるとは予想外でした。屋号をつけた口座も選択肢でしたが、振込名が長くなることから、今回は個人名で口座を開設することにしました。 The first thing I had to tackle after setting up my own business as a sole proprietor was opening a bank account. When I went to the bank to start the procedure for opening the account, I had to submit a copy of my business registration, a representative visited my office to confirm the location, and had a hearing about the purpose of opening the account, as well as an explanation and hearing about foreign exchange in case I needed to deposit money from overseas. Furthermore, opening an account with only a trade name was not permitted, and various procedures and business discussions were required. In the end, it took about two weeks and four business meetings to open the new account.

Considering the increasing number of people creating fictitious accounts and committing fraud, it is understandable that they are cautious when opening a new account. However, I did not expect the procedure and time it would take to get to this point. An account with a trade name was an option, but due to the length of the transfer name, I decided to open an account in my personal name this time.
